Issue 6 is coming. Here’s how you can be part of it.
A new issue of Silence & Starsong is on its way and before it goes to print, we’re giving our readers the first chance to back it.
Our Indiegogo campaign launches July 2. Between now and then, we wanted to tell you exactly what we’re building and why it’s worth your support.
What Issue 6 is
One issue a year. Every story chosen carefully, every piece of artwork earning its place. Nothing goes in just to fill pages because we only have one shot to get it right.
Issue 6 continues what Volume 1 started, bringing you stories from the perspective that materialism tries to crowd out. Not science fiction that treats the universe as a machine, but fiction that takes seriously the possibility that angels are real, that matter means something, and that the supernatural isn't a metaphor. Fantasy, horror, science fiction, action, and the strange things at the edges of all of those, written by authors who've asked what kind of stories you'd tell if you dropped the scientism and picked up the supernatural.
What we’re asking for
We’re raising $3,000 to pay our authors fairly and fund the artwork that makes the magazine worth holding in your hands. What we raise goes toward paying the authors and artists behind Issue 6.
This year we’ve also introduced new reward tiers, including a numbered limited-edition print of the cover art, an early-access digital copy, and a dedicated Patrons page for our top-tier backers.
A note on pricing
We’ve raised our prices this year. The honest reason is twofold: Silence & Starsong is a premium annual anthology and we want the price to reflect that, and we want to build something sustainable enough that its survival doesn’t depend on hitting a fundraising goal every twelve months. We think that’s a fair trade.
How to help right now
The campaign isn’t live yet, but there are two things you can do today:
Share this post with someone who loves speculative fiction and hasn’t found us yet.
Leave a review on Amazon if you’ve read a past issue. Reviews are the lifeblood of independent publishing and they cost nothing but a few minutes.
When the campaign goes live on July 2 we’ll send another email with the direct link. Watch for it.
